The Borderline

Frank & Walters, Slow Motion Heroes, Dead School

Saturday 24th March 2012, 7:00 pm

The Frank and Walters are one of the most recognizable and enduring indie bands in the universe. Hailing from Cork, Ireland they have been releasing alternative pop classics for the last 21 years.

The band: Paul Linehan (vocals & bass), Ashley Keating (drums) Rory Murphy (guitar)  & Cian Corbett (keyboards) took the band name in honour of two eccentric Cork characters. But that’s where all links with eccentricity must end, as the band are now very serious and deep. In fact they are only happy 71% of the time compared to 1993 when they clocked up 11 months of 100% happiness, a world record that still stands today!!!!

Two decades on from the release of their very first record, the Franks continue to defy the expectations of their former chemistry teacher, Mr Ryan, who compared them to Seaborgium. (Go on, look it up!!!)

After 2010’s seasonally themed single releases the Franks are now putting the final touches on their new long player, ‘Greenwich Mean Time’, which will be released in February 2012.

The Frank and The Walters play The Borderline on 24th March.  Supporting will be Slow Motion Heroes and Dead School.

Age restrictions – shows are 14+, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult, proof of age upon request regardless of advance ticket purchase.
