Knox & The Trailer Trash Orchestra, Piney Gir, Lucky Strikes
A showcase of some of the UK’s finest original raw edged country-blues will be on offer at The Borderline on Saturday 5th November. Knox and The Trailer Trash Orchestra and Piney Gir will both be premiering songs from their new albums with incendiary support from the highly touted Lucky Strikes and very special guest DJ Gerry Mule. The show runs from 7pm – 10.30pm.
Ex-Vibrators’ Knox describes his collaboration with The Trailer Trash Orchestra as “like Lou Reed meets Johnny Cash for party time on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Farm. Hold onto your chainsaws and get your horse to pogo to this!!”
Legendary Vibrators frontman Knox has teamed up with country-rockin’ festival faves The Trailer Trash Orchestra to produce new album ‘The Knoxville Boy’ (Trashville/Rough Trade) which includes storming country-rock versions of several Vibrators classics along with many all new songs ranging from full on hoe-downs to plaintive bar-room blues ballads. Maverick Magazine describes it as “Refined, extraordinary music by a band oozing style”!

Piney Gir taunts traditional country music with a big city edge… ‘Jesus Wept’ is Piney’s 4th album out on Damaged Goods and is a nod to Piney’s strict religious upbringing and her urge to walk the line between naughty and nice. There comes a time when everyone should question their faith and Piney has channelled that into a record. A record that’s a little bit country, a little bit rock ‘n’ roll and a whole lot of attitude.

The Lucky Strikes hail from the Thames Delta of Southend on Sea. The band channel blues country and gospel into their own brand of cinematic Americana. The songwriting vison of Matt Boulter (lead vocals and guitar) and Dave Giles (piano and guitar) focuses on literate ragged alternative country, influenced by the band, Tom Waits and the spagehtti westerns of Ennio Morricone.
Knox & The Trailer Trash Orchestra will be supported by Piney Gir, Lucky Strikes and DJ Gerry Mule.
Age restrictions – shows are 14+, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult, proof of age upon request regardless of advance ticket purchase.
